primary objective of this one-day course will be to
instruct participants in the basic structure of medical
terms, including combining forms, prefixes, suffixes,
word roots, and plurals. A series of lectures
and exercises will be presented that will place the
course content in perspective by centering around basic
anatomy and physiology. The study includes a review
of commonly used diagnostic and pathological terms for
each body system. This course has been designed
for anyone who is interested in a better understanding
of medical terminology. Students who complete
the course will have the foundation to recognize, build,
spell, and pronounce medical terms.
